Message des hôteliers de Huatulco : 'Tout va bien !'

L'Association des Hôteliers de la Baie de Huatulco tient à rassurer les professionnels du tourisme quant à la situation qui prévaut à Huatulco. La capitale de l'État, Oaxaca, a été sous les projecteurs des médias depuis quelques mois en raison d'une grève des enseignants qui voit le centre historique complètement bloqué et l'économie locale virtuellement paralysée, explique l'association.

Mais, souligne-t-elle, la Baie de Huatulco se trouve à 6 heures de route de Oaxaca et la grève des enseignants n'a aucunement affecté sa quiétude ou sa stabilité économique.

" Nous tenons à vous assurer que la sécurité et le bien être de nos visiteurs sont nos premières priorités et donc, nous suivons de près la situation à Oaxaca. Cependant, nous voulons signaler que le problème à Oaxaca est à 100% un problème local et qu'il n'affecte pas les autres régions de l'état, et particulièrement pas la Côte Pacifique qui en est éloignée. À vous tous, qui voudraient constater en personne que vos clients et vos passagers sont au 7 eme ciel dans nos magnifiques baies, nous vous invitons cordialement à nous rendre visite et à profiter, avec nos invités, des nombreuses bénédictions de Huatulco."

As you know, our State capital Oaxaca City has been the focus of national and international media for the past few months, due to the blocking of the historical downtown by striking teachers and revolutionary support groups, which has caused a virtual paralysis of the local economy and the tourism industry in particular. Our sympathies are with our hotelier colleagues from Oaxaca, and we hope that a peaceful solution can be found very shortly.

In response to some concerns expressed by our commercial partners, tour operators, wholesalers and travel agents, please know that being 6 hours drive away, the teachers protests have in no way affected Huatulco’s economic stability and peacefulness.

Huatulco wakes up every day to its laid back atmosphere, looking up to a blue sky, hearing the sound of gentle waves and feeling a light breeze of mountain air from the Sierra Madre. Our visitors are relaxing as always at a pool or one of our 36 beautiful beaches, or are getting ready for a day full of fun and adventure, taking an interesting tour along the bays or to one of the nearby coffee plantations, or testing their skills at golf, tennis, scuba diving, snorkeling or horseback riding, or trying to beat the rapids of the Copalita river on a kayak or river raft.

We would like to assure you that the safety and wellbeing of our visitors is our number one priority, and therefore we are closely following the news from Oaxaca. However, we want to point out that the problem is 100% local and does not reach into other regions of the State, especially not to the distant Pacific Coast.
