As MyTravel North America becomes Thomas Cook North America, the company has announced organizational changes in Canada, including the resignation of Sunquest President Andrew Dawson.

In a media statement from Thomas Cook North America CEO Michael Friisdahl, it was announced that the TCook group of companies will no longer have company presidents, replacing the role with ‘Commercial Brand Managers’ supported by “streamlined central services support units.”

Thomas Cook North America President and Chief Operating Officer Lars Lofgren announced the personnel changes to staff this week. Highlights include:

Andrew Dawson has resigned as President of Sunquest and will be leaving the company at the end of July.

Sarah Chatburn will become Senior VP Commercial, Sunquest and ALBATours, responsible for the Commercial, Air and Yield team at Sunquest and Alba, reporting to Lars.

Ron Heuer is Senior VP Commercial for THN, with responsibility for Holiday House, Network, Encore Cruise Escapes and Specialty Brands.

Jill Wykes has been named Senior VP Operations, with responsibility for all Call Centres, Operations, Resort Management and Customer Service, reporting to Lars.

John Kirk has been named Senior VP, Retail, with responsibility for all retail brands.

Manon Blouin, VP and General Manager, Quebec operations will take on responsibility for the performance of the Quebec division for all brands, in support of Thomas Cook growth strategies for Quebec and report directly to Lars.

Flemming Friisdahl continues as VP Sales but will now report to Lars.

“We believe these changes will enable us to provide the best possible service to you, the travel agent, and to our customers,” wrote Friisdahl. “We are fortunate to have a great deal of travel industry experience within our company, and we will continue to draw on that experience to improve our products, our services and to grow in all markets.”
